The Exploited are one of the best 80's hardcore punk bands (along with GBH and Discharge), and this is their first album. Each song is loud and sung and played with such venom, anger and passion that it makes you want to leap about and smash stuff. If you're new to this it's not a bad place to start (or try the two disc compilation further down the list), I've also got "Troops of Tomorrow" and "Lets start a war" and you won't be let down by any of them.

20years ago,I use to have this album on vinyl and absolutely
loved it,till it got worn out.I always thought the terrible sound quality was what it prevented it from being one of the most powerful and energetic punk rock albums of all times. Now I
got the remastered cd . It sounds so incredibly well it will splatter your brains against the wall opposite to your speakers !!!! I want you to become aware that this is an all time classic every 2nd waver punk rocker should have as his reference record.

"PUNK'S NOT DEAD ?" the cynic howled with laughter, but they soon choked on their hysterical false laughter as the new wave of Real Punk smashed into their faces
Punks Not Dead... the album every Punk should own.
This album contains some of the greatest punk songs ever written!
The album has been completley remastered including the original 15 songs, an extra 12 songs that were not on the original LP and a pull out poster of the front cover... this cds worth every penny!

This is the second best selling punk album of all time, just behind the Sex Pistols' classic " Never Mind The Bollocks" album and that would definitley be hard to beat as this album sold over 150000 copies!
Punks Not Dead, only time will tell.

I have to confess this is my first ever listen to an Exploited album and I am quietly impressed. In the day you would not have caught me within a mile of the Exploited, I was back then a rock fan rather than a punk fan. However, I have tired of rock for a while and so have turned to punk and so far so good. This album is not the best thing since sliced bread because it suffers from a monotone approach where the songs are basically all played fast, so fast that the lyrics are often lost and with them the point. However, this band sounds promising enough for me to buy another Exploited album very soon, its not all bad. Just do not expect another Sex Pistols album, the blindingly memorable choruses and mob rule lyrics are not altogether present. What this album is however is pure attitude. At 40 years old I like it but at 20 I would have loved it. Maybe I am getting old...
