5.0 out of 5 stars England's best kept secret 8 Dec 2000
Format:Audio CD
This is USA calling. Slaughter & the Dogs are one of England's best bands that DIDN'T make it in America! Too bad. Their first LP "Dog Style" (1978) is a great combo of glam and punk. And this comp is a great introduction to Slaughter & the Dogs. Other great UK bands that didn't crack the US charts (but should have) include the Photos, Witchfynde, the Chords, Gymslips, Cock Sparrer, and Eddie & the Hot Rods.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best from Manchester 17 Dec 2012
By L. dunn - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Slaughter and the dogs were one of the best and most underrated Punk Bands to come out of Manchester during he Punk explosion, Hits like "Cranked up really high "Where have all the Boot boys gone" "Dame to Blame" are some of the best of the British Punk anthem.
Reformed and still touring I last heard.
4.0 out of 5 stars They Were Great When at Their Best 19 Nov 2010
By S. Mayer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
S & D were hardly the best of the British punk bands of the 70s but that doesn't mean they were weakies, either. You haven't lived if you haven't heard "Cranked Really High" and "Where Have All The Boot Boys Gone?", which rides on the greatest hard rock riff of the 70s.
