4.0 out of 5 stars Probably the best in the series! 27 April 2010
Format:Audio CD
This is arguably the most accomplished collection in the Punk Goes.... alternative covers series. The bands stay true enough to the originals whilst still making them their own.

Standout moments include: Hit the Lights covering "More than a feeling, Pierce The Veil's version of "(Don't) Fear the reaper", Forever The Sickets Kids "Crazy Train" and The Maine's version of "Pour Some Sugar On Me"

It plays very well all the way through and would be perfect for some classic road trip sing-a-longs!

Well worth a purchase!

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice little cover album 11 May 2010
By Aaron Miller - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
I really don't understand why people don't like this album.
For the most part the covers stay true to the original songs and don't alter them terribly,
which is nice to recognize the actual song.
If you don't like the bands listed on this cd then obviously don't buy it.
I've always liked the "Punk Goes" series and still do with this cd.
If you buy this cd and expect something other then punk bands doing covers of old songs
which seems to be the case with many people reviewing this you will be dissapointed.
If you liked any of the other "Punk Goes" cds you'll like this one too.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE THIS CD 31 Oct 2011
By Allison Z Fry - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I've been making my own "punk cover" mix CDs for years. That fact, paired with another (my love for classic rock), made this CD a given.

I love most of the tracks, although I do skip a couple like Rock N' Roll All Night and All Along the Watchtower, but that's only because I don't like the originals.

For what it's worth, I have no interest in any of the bands on this CD outside of their tracks featured.

This is a fun CD for road trips and sunny days with the windows down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not a 5 exactly BUT... 28 April 2010
By Andrew Brown - Published on Amazon.com
For some reason people always hate on cover albums. It's sad really. How anyone can't appreciate a fresh new take on an old standard is beyond me. I'm a huge fan of covers when they're done right, and for the most part, this one is done very well. Some of my favorites are "Free Fallin" by The Almost and (most of) "Bohemian Rhapsody" by NeverShoutNever! If you're looking for some cool punkish takes on songs this country loves, then look no further. Punk Goes Classic Rock will do you good.

1.0 out of 5 stars It's not very punk... 2 Sep 2011
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Well, I have the Before You Were Punk CDs, and I really like them. This one sounds a lot like the cast from Glee or something, it doesn't sound punk at all... It's not like they're BAD covers, they just don't have any kind of edge to them. So I don't really like it that much.
4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but not the best 3 Mar 2014

Not my favorit of the "punk goes" but the Almost's version of free fallin was better then the origanals, and thats not easy to do!
