This is just about the best book on the subject that I have seen (so far)
Full of great photos that do not appear in a dozen other books, a foreward written by one of the key figues of the early New York punk scene and CBGBs regular Debbie Harry.
It is not written with lots of pretentious arty speak and is very clear and concise, at times amusing and always comprehensive.
I picked this up for under a tenner, it's a no brainer at that price an absolute steal. Packed with great pictures of just about every aspect of life and gigging in punks early days, making this up there with Caroline Coon's 1988 Punk Rock explosion (in my opinion)
A fun and light read, if you are looking for social and political document then this is probably not the book for you as it focuses all on the music and punks heady days when it was fresh and exciting!
Recommended.
