Product Description

Product Description

He murdered his family, killed the devil and brought about an apocalypse, but Mr. Punch still doesn't think he deserves to be on Santa's "naughty" list. And since no one can have Christmas if he can't, Mr. Punch makes it his goal to ruin Christmas for the last two good children on earth. Armed with a volatile temper, a slap-stick and painful memories of his childhood, Mr. Punch discovers the scandalous truth about Santa Claus and somehow finds himself on the noble side of things.

First Sentence
Merely to inform you that the marvelous, malicious, maundering Mister Punch, last seen cavorting in Christopher Reilly's and Darron Laessig's The Comical Tragedy of Punch and Judy (Slave Labor Graphics, 2002), has returned to the printed page should be enough of a jolt to cause you to stop reading my words in these pages, rush to the sales counter of the store where you have stumbled across this volume in your innocent browsing, hastily throw money at the cashier, then rush home with your purchase to spend hours of delight watching our antihero with the croissant-shaped head wreak his glorious mayhem impartially on babies, mothers, animals and a certain Winter Solstice Demiurge who is not exactly what he purports to be. Read the first page

5.0 out of 5 stars THE RARE SEQUEL THAT DELIVERS, 13 Dec 2003
By Stefan L. Blitz - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Punch And Judy: A Grand Guignol (Paperback)
The rantings of the insane Christopher P. Reilly are even more entertaining the second time around. Not since Frank Miller's Dark Knight Strikes Again has a sequel comic narrative completely blown me away. Original artist Darron Laessig is back for a bit before the book is taken over by the brilliant Jorge Santillan. Painter extraordinaire Jon Foster contributes another cover worthy of framing and Paul DiFillippo somehow manages to say even more nice things than he did the first time around in his introduction. This story covers Christmas, folks, so get in the spirit and pick up this piece of magnificence!
