If you've ever been mistaken into thinking that dance is purely nonsense sound and noise this should correct that misperception!
This superb account allows the reader not only to read about a historical influence of house music, in both English and American cultures, but you are also allowed and encouraged to feel part of the culture. We are shown that this in its depths and ranges, from acid house, to funk house, to tech(no) house.
For anyone who has a love for house music this is a meaningful opportunity to discover the routes of this love, from those clubs that lay a path for house, such as Paradise Garage and The Warehouse. Asides this it is easy to see the origonals of todays house music such as "Your Love" and "Time to Jack."
This by no means trivialises house, in fact it is a must for any fan of House music, whether it be UK, US, Deep, Funk or Tech and whether they are young, old, black, white, gay or straight or male or female.
The only thing left to say is......."Pump Up The Volume!"

I seriously loved this book- puts a very real and powerful spin on the story of house music which is only powerful if you believe it is yourself. I liked the youtube documentary better because I am not much of a reader- but this was good for my bibliography on my thesis paper on the subject.
