No need to count the calories with the new Breville Chef's Grill, this superbly designed health grill provides a quick and healthy way to cook a variety of meat, fish and vegetables with perfect chargrilled results every time. You can even use this versatile grill as a sandwich press! And, because the Grill cooks both sides of the food at the same time between non-stick grilling plates, you can have a delicious meal ready in minutes.

Sporting a designer look stainless steel finish, the new Breville Chef's Grill not only looks good, but also offers high quality grilling features and a powerful 2200 Watts to ensure a fast heat-up time.

Before cooking, simply preheat the grill (the red 'power on' light will come on). Turn the variable temperature control dial to 'Steak Sear' for fast heat up. The grill is ready to use when the green ready light illuminates.

Simply lift the lid using the handle and place your food on the lower plate. Lower the lid and press down gently. The hinge on the grill will adjust to accommodate the thickness of food being cooked. Your grill also has an adjustable grilling height feature to cook delicate ingredients such as fish. Cook the food until golden brown, using the handy grilling chart inside the instruction booklet.

The Breville Chef's Grill comes equipped with a slide-out drip tray that fits underneath the Grill to collect fats and other cooking residues during the grilling process. This makes the grilling residues easier to discard after cooking.

Cleaning couldn't be easier. After the grill has cooled, push and scrape food deposits from the plates into the drip tray, using the plastic scraper provided. Slide out and remove the drip tray and place in the dishwasher or wash in hot soapy water. Use a damp cloth to wipe the non-stick grill plates ready for use again.

CLEANING: After two stirloine steaks I have cleaned it while it was still warm with sponge and water. Remains of food were coming off quite easy thanks to non stick surface. Top panel allows you to put it in the position where water drips on the bottom panel and from there flows straight to drip collector supplied. So first you clean top panel and then the bottom. Dirty water goes to drip collector which is detachable and easy to clean. No force is required, actually I do not know if I ever will need to use cleaning spatula provided with the grill, unless I do allow deposites to build up. The whole cleaning took maximum 5 minutes.

OPERATION: my case is for steak settings. It was preheated in about 30 seconds. The process after that was simple: put steak in the middle, after 3 minutes open and pick up steaks. I used OPEN position settings at the hight settings (It has nine positions: OPEN when plates can touch each other + plus 8 when there is a gap between, the last setting will accomodate fully filled hamburger). I will be doing fish soon and ability to set up hight will allow to grill fish without smashing it! Very thoughtfull. Hinge works well. Three minutes and steaks were done. I really do not know what to say else, it is quite straightforward.

TASTE: excellent, because this grill has 2200Watts it has enough power to seal meat before considerable amount of juices can escape so meat was juicy and tender. You have distinctive marks like at open fire grill.

BUILD: very sturdy, classy look, top surface and handles are from stainless steel, handle does not heat at all. It is heavy enough not to knock it from table down, it's legs are sitting firmly at the wooden talbe top. You have option to pull out legs hidden in the bottom to level grill with table top if required. Juice drip collector is designed that no juice is able to escape, it holds quite firm and on the other hand is easy to disconnect, it is not flimsy at all. In case of two steaks it did not collect any juice at all since there was little juice escaping and it was caught at the hot surface of the plate. Cleaning spatula provided is of strong build and fits perfectly ridges in the bottom panel so will probably scrape food effectively. Grill's size is large enough for two really large or three medium steaks. I have done two medium steaks and they were fully covered by panels. It has variable temperature control but not time, which I prefere in opposite to timer, since it is easy to control time but difficult to control temperature. You can store it upright using handle lock which locks both plate together. Overall build is sturdy and solid, no flimsy parts.

Conclusion: right now I am convinced I have made right choice for myself
