4.0 out of 5 stars Pulp Fusion back on the good foot! 5 Jan 2007
After a botched attempt at a 'DJ Remix' Best Of and and a disappointing excursion into disco tack, the Pulp Fusion series is reassuringly back on form with two cds worth of hard-as-nails soul, funk & jazz grooves from the golden age of black music. Compiled by New York DJ Monk One (don't worry, I'd never heard of him before either) the tunes are what you would expect on a Pulp Fusion compilation - tough, intense, often obscure, and sometimes uncompromising. If you're not familiar with the Pulp Fusion series I might start with an earlier volume, but if you are already a fan you'll be pleased that things are back to normal.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth it! 4 Aug 2009
I bought this compilation for Ray Bryant's "Up Above The Rock", which I could not find anywhere else. I found much more than just one good song in this 2-disc compilation. Lee Moses' instrumental cover of "I'll be there" is another killer track for example. I am not sure how this volume compares to the other Pulp fusion volumes but I don't regret starting with this one!

Yet another Awesome album from Harmless. Only two more to go before I complete the whole series. If you like hard hitting grooves from the 70's, then these albums in the Pulp Fusion series is the place to look.
