Once again, the blurb from amazon pretty much tells you all that happens in this tale.

What it doesn't tell you is that this is a very romantic tale, with a female who's been hurt verbally and physically by her ex-husband, and a cop who's dominant and Alpha, but romantic and tender too. It helped that the leads knew each other from their high school days, and when they decided to go for it, it was a green light all the way.

The sex was hot, frequent, dominant with the teensiest bit of BDSM (at her request), graphic, but above all, loving, sexy and romantic, and it ends with a HEA. This is a 5* Keeper.

This book was hot, sexy and fun. The main character Rebecca was instantly lovable and she made me laugh within the first few pages. The story was really sweet and romantic and the sex scenes were sizzling. My only negative is that the book finished so soon, I want more. I'll definately pick up the rest of this series and I suggest everyone else does too. Definately an author to watch.

Pull the Trigger by Melissa Ecker
* I received this ARC/book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Pull the Trigger is the 1st book in a series by Melissa Ecker about Memory Grove. It introduces us to the small town, along with two of it's residents Rebecca and Justin.

Rebecca works at the local libray and is newly divorced. She married her first love, or so she thought. As the story progresses, we see how he knocked her self image down over the years they were married. She is not confident about herself or her abilities, she has a poor self image of her self and very low self esteem. All that changes when she decides to take the chance and go to dinner with Justin.

Justin is a police officer in the small town. Everyone knows everyone's business so he isn't surprised when he stops Rebecca and she tells him about her husband. After her divorce is final, he runs into her at the liquor store and asks her to dinner, not knowing where the dinner invitation would lead them.

Rebecca can't believe that Justin really is interested in her. Her self esteem has been so damanged by Tim she thinks he's just going out with her because he feels sorry for her. As they get to know each other, Justin slowly helps her see that Tim was the one with the issues not her.

Justin was popular in school but has never married, he was waiting for the "one" to come along. He's had his share of romances but no one he wanted to settle down with. There is an instant connection with Rebecca that he never expected but she is moving in two weeks.

Both of the main characters are very easy to relate to becauese they have real problems. They are complex and intersting and I wanted to read more about them. I was instantly pulled into the story and agreed with Justin, Tim needed to be shot for the things he did to Rebecca. I hated to see her so down on herself but loved seeing her regain her self confidence and independence.

The airport scene was one of my favorites, it was beautifully written and very touching. I loved the fact that Justin wasn't afraid to show his softer, more vunerable side. The sex scenes were steamy and you could feel the connection between the two of them.

Overall I enjoyed this book and can't wait to read the other two in the series. All three books will be released through Lazy Day Publishing in December. Visit Melissa's website at [...] for more information about this series.

Overall I give Pull the Trigger 4 Flaming Hearts.

Pull the Trigger

Rebecca Harper has accepted a new position in St Louis and is finally breaking out of the small town of Memory Grove and leaving behind her failed marriage. After finding her husband on his desk with his secretary, Rebecca had had enough. Speeding away from the scene, sexy cop and high school crush Justin Cain pulls her over. Rebecca is broken and tear filled and Justin is there to pick up the pieces. An unexpected romance and a dream job hanging in the air, Rebecca is faced with the hardest decision of her life. Pull the Trigger is everything an erotica novella should be and more. Author Melissa Ecker really knows how to bring life to her characters and involve the reader in the emotions of the characters. She has an impeccable flow of dialog and an incredibly detailed imagination. You will see it in the care that she takes with each page.

Thoroughly Enjoyable! 18 Jan 2011

I blew through this book in one sitting - well, in one soaking to be precise (I read it in a long relaxing bath ;-)

The author does a nice characterization of the two main characters - who doesn't love a to cheer for a spouse who's been cheated on? Ms. Ecker builds a quick rapport up with the new divorcee and the patrol man she's had a crush on since 5th grade. This is an erotic novella and wraps up with a nice satisfying happy ending. I highly recommend to readers who like a steamy quick read.
