Having gone through all of our local walking books covering Surrey we decided to buy this book as we like and spend quite a lot time in West Sussex.
The walks in this book are very nice however the directions are not very detailed and could lead to quite a lot of scope for error. We are quite seasoned walkers and other books/maps havnt caused us any problems, however I certainly wouldnt recommend using this book without the additional use of an ordnance survey map.

Forty walks, ranging from a little under 3 miles to a little over 6. They cover the whole of the county and are spread evenly.
We found this book terrific. Exercise in the fresh air with these easy-to-follow walks and an interesting local history lesson at the same time.

We tried our first walk out of this handy little book today, and it was easy to understand, well directed and a great overiew in general. We look forward to trying the other walks in the book. We use OS maps regularly but the benefit of detailed descriptions ("follow the sandy path on your right" etc)made the walk foolproof. We even had our nine month old in tow!
