I would certainly recommened this excellent book to help people like ourselves who have recently retired down to the West Country and joined a local U3A. As one of the new leaders of the Rambling Group, we needed suitable walks with refreshmets at the end of the walks to encourage members to join us. This book has been invaluable to us and we all have cetainly enjoyed the much needed pint and food provided at the end of the walks.

Over all, well worth the money, and certainly glad we purchased this useful book.

My patner and I selected walk 16 Bishop's Tawton, thankfully we also had the relevant OS map with us. The description of the walk was incorrect throughout, to the extent that at one point it describes a track as "a pleasant descent - in reality is was a very steep track covering in loose shale and huge boulders which was an extrememly challenging descent ending in ankle deep mud. Worse than inaccurate descriptions of the terraine were the inaccurate directions, I can not beleive that the author has walked this route, or if he has, he wrote the description from memory afterwards and got some key information wrong.
DO NOT RELY ON THIS BOOK, it's fine to find a good village pub with local walks, but plan your own route and take the OS map. This book could leave you in serious trouble if you don't take any other map.

this was a gift for my cousin so I can't comment on it's usefulness as I won't be doing any of the walks or pubs in devon, but the shipping and quality of product were both great.
