Book Description

Adam Cuthbert, psychopath and Minister of Religion, finds criminality and his work in the Church to be quite compatible. After joining forces with Joey LaMotta, fellow priest and Mafioso, they go on to break every command in the Bible, embarking on a crime spree that includes sex trafficking and cocaine smuggling. Independently, Adam begins to indulge in a passion for murder, his homicidal urges only being halted by a foe from the past and a mental unravelling. The sole person that seems to be able to make sense of Adam’s plight is Chanda, trafficked Indian and unassuming sage.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book... 14 May 2013
By Billie
Format:Kindle Edition
Unconventional, shocking, funny, thought-provoking ... this book will appeal to anyone who appreciates a playful take on the slasher genre. Despite containing plenty of humour, it is also a serious study of psychopathy. Think Elmore Leonard meets Philip K. Dick, and that will give you a flavour of the author's style.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really good. 17 May 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Very original. If you like regular crime thrillers/murder mysteries then this book may come as a bit of a shock. It definitely isn't an Agatha Christie, but all the better for it. It's quite visceral and in-your-face, but with dollops of absurdist humour. I would liken reading this book to being hit over the head with a large stick: you know about it for a while afterwards!

4.0 out of 5 stars A gulity pleasure... 15 May 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Given the subject matter I feel a little ashamed to report that I found this book incredibly enjoyable. It isn't your typical crime thriller by a long way, but it had me turning pages until the end. The book has stayed with me since finishing it, and I can safely say I will never be able to meet a member of the clergy again without having to suppress a grin...

Could have been good as the concept was clever. Started ok but then got a bit ridiculous and then trashy. Disappointing

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book 8 Dec. 2012
By J. Craven - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
'Psychopath!' isn't a pleasant read, but I found it compulsive, though-provoking and at times funny. It's the story of a psychopathic religous minister, and the homicidal and criminal spree he embarks on, aided by two equally crazy buddies. The book is written in the first person, and has a very immediate, in-your-face feel which makes the murders described feel very real. The ending is - quite literally - explosive.
