This is an extraordinary book about an extraordinary man, 'Keith Charles' - Psychic to the Stars', as one Sunday newspaper nicknamed him. Until his recent retirement, in December 1999, as a detective in the Metropolitan police force, Keith used his rare gift for psychic detection in his police work and gives some spectacular examples of his success. No criminal felt safe when this particular police officer was on his case because Keith could open doors not open to any other serving British police officer. Doors that unlocked the power of the psychic world.

In this rivetting account of his life as both a police officer, using these powers, and as a psychic, bringing comfort and reassurance to grieving loved ones on earth, Keith gives a rare insight into his own, unique world.

He tells how as a police detective he had to seek out the truth by in-depth questioning of both suspects and situations. Something he continues to apply to his work now assisting the police in Britain, and many overseas countries, who still call upon his psychic services.

In his book Keith Charles also turns his detection skills to shedding some light on high profile cases, such as those of former BBC presenter Jill Dando, so tragically gunned down on the front doorstep of her London home; the car crash death of Princess Diana, the mysterious disappearances of both estate agent Suzy Lamplugh and rock star Richey Edwards. As well as the bizarre death of another musician, Michael Hutchence. Keith Charles tells how he makes contact with the spirits of some of these celebrities, and the extraordinary things they reveal to him.

He documents murder cases that have taken him to America and Canada, called in by police investigators.

Keith Charles is a natural. As the foreword by wellknown British actress Jenny Seagrove says: 'As well as being entertaining, Keith's book is reassuring. Death is no longer a dark abyss but a new horizon with something exciting beyond it that we can all look forward to journeying towards when this life ends ....'

It is wonderful to get such a clear and comforting view from this very gifted man, just what that journey, which, one day, we will all take, has in store for us.

Keith Charles clearly hasn't bothered to do much research on what he's writing about. Maybe he thinks that with his psychic powers he doesn't need to do any research, but if he had, he would have known he was getting even basic facts wrong. I bought this book especially to read the chapter on Richey Edwards. Firstly, Keith Charles repeatedly claims that Richey was an Englishman living in England, when any Manics fan can telly you he was a Welshman living in Wales. To get such a basic fact wrong doesn't fill me with much confidence in this psychic's abilities. The so-called "psychic" claims that Richey did not stay at his hotel overnight and actually left during the night. However in a much more well-researched book about Richey (by Rob Jovanovic) we are given details of eyewitness accounts of hotel staff who saw Richey leave the hotel at 7am in the morning. So he obviously did stay there overnight. The psychic claims Richey wasn't planning to disappear and did so on the spur of the moment. So why was Richey withdrawing £200 a day from his bank account in the weeks leading up to his disappearance and why was he acting differently in those two weeks? The other Manics later said it seemed as if he was planning something. Keith Charles claims that Richey abandoned his vehicle and disappeared without having made it home - we know this is false because Richey had left the ticket from his severn crossing and other artifacts at his home in Cardiff. All in all, I say take this book with a pinch of salt, I for one don't believe this man knows what he is talking about. It's also a bit of a coincidence that Keith Charles began claiming that Richey was living in India after people began publicly claiming that they'd sighted him in Goa. I actually emailed Keith Charles and asked why the story the spirits were telling him was completely in contrast with the known facts of Richey's last days. He could offer no explanation at all.
