Book Description

Sammy, a fourteen-year-old fugitive, accidentally discovers he has the powers of a Psion.

A six-month journey of incredible trials has brought Sammy back to Capitol Island, but things aren't what they used to be. There are more demons to face and new challenges to overcome. Looming over it all is the war. To make matters worse, big changes are happening in Psion Alpha and Psion Beta—changes Sammy doesn't like.

Katie Carpenter, once the great Queen of Anomaly Thirteens, has fallen from grace, and Sammy is the key to regaining her status.

Commander Byron investigates the depths of Victor Wrobel's treason, and the deeper he searches, the more danger he finds.

The Silent War is at a tipping point; even one boy can be the difference.

But to do so, he must survive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing story and series! 11 Mar. 2015

I have read every Psion book so far (can't wait for Omega!) And have thoroughly enjoyed each one. The author obviously takes a lot of pride in his work especially for being self published, because I have found almost no mistakes in grammar or continuity which is rare for even professionally published and edited books. The story really pulls you in and let's you see what is going on from many different points of views, even the villains, which is really awesome. I am an avid reader and have to admit this is the only series that I have re-read more than two times. The story moves and has action, adventure, love, death, and deceit. If you like sci-fi then you'll love this book and Gowan's whole series. Psion Delta itself has really added to the story and character development. It's a terrific addition and tells the reader so much more about some of the important characters such as The Queen, the fox, and even Sammy. One thing though is that this series is violent, (nothing more than you would probably see in a superhero movie), and may be for more mature readers around 11 and up. Gowan has done a terrific job and as he continues to write I know I will still have great stories to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great book in the Psion series 6 April 2015
By Kyle G - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
In Psion Delta, the third book in the Psion series, Sammy is back home from his ordeal in CAG territory and is trying to heal both physically and mentally. Sammy quickly learns that a lot of things have changed while he’s been gone. He also realizes that he’s probably changed most of all. The “Silent War” continues but is growing less and less silent by the day. Sammy finds he is not really sure where he fits anymore. He begins to wonder if he’s still capable of doing what he’s been trained for.

Jacob Gowans has definitely earned five stars with Psion Delta. As with the first two books of this series, Psion Delta is not for really young readers. It’s a very real and honest depiction of what war is like. As with any war, people you care about get hurt and killed. The author continues building even more depth into the book’s exceptional cast of characters. Despite the special abilities most of the characters have, they are still “real” people with real weakness and real fears. Especially Sammy, who has become one of my all-time favorite characters. It’s like Gowans wrote the character with me in mind. I find that so many characters in Young Adult novels seem to be immune to serious consequences. How many times have you read a YA novel and said “Oh come on, no 15 year old would do that!” or “Yeah right a bunch of kids would get away with that!” With Psion Delta, I found that was not the case. Sammy is only 15 but he’s smart and has been forced to mature faster than normal, so he reacts accordingly. He doesn’t get into trouble by doing something stupid just so he can end up doing something smart to get out of it.

I highly recommend Psion Delta as well as Psion Beta and Psion Gamma, the first two books of this series. But be warned, make sure you have plenty of time to finish it because once you start you’re not going to want to put it down. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go find my copy of Psion Alpha!

I bought this book for my 12 year old son... he LOVED it! I haven't read it myself, but I trust his judgment. He's very picky.

5.0 out of 5 stars Book #3 is Awesome... 6 Dec. 2013

3rd book in the series was as good if not better than the first two books. Start with book on and be hooked. You will be dying for more. This is scheduled to be a 5 book series with book 4 to be released on 12/13/2013 which happens to be my 52nd birthday. Take the time to read them and you will not be disappointed.
