First, let it be said that the performances by the St. Paul's Cathedral Choir are very fine all around. The music itself, however, isn't that interesting, IMHO, and that's what brings down my overall rating. Of course, these works were never necessarily intended as "great art" to be sung in concert halls, but rather, music for the church congregation to sing along to as part of the worship services. Thus overall, a curiosity worth hearing once.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Collection! 5 July 2000

I continue to be impressed with the St. Paul Cathedral Choir. In terms of presenting Anglican chant, I have heard none better. The pointing to these chants is according to a new system used at St. Paul's but the chant tones themselves span the tradition from Tallis and Purcell, to contemporary 20th century composers.
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, as with most any Choral music recording from Hyperion! 20 Mar 2013

I love the first track (Psalm 18) but its all truly exceptional material. It is perfect singing and a perfectly engineered recording.

Not only did mans journey into space peak between 1969 and 1972 during which the 12 (only what ? 8 left alive) men who walked on the moon did their stuff : music also peaked during those years. The rest is just winding down and fiddling about. 15 4 hours ago
