Product Description

Fay Weldon, Prize Judge

`Inborn literary skill, deftness of language, equally at home with the known and the so far unknown - and funny with it. If she keeps it up she'll take her place among the best in the land.'

Tobias Hill, Prize Judge

'I began Psalm 119 late one night, and realised that I would not be going to bed until the novel was good and ready to let me go.'

Luminous! 29 Aug 2008
Format:Paperback
Heather's treatment of our tendency to get fascinated by and to acquire other peoples' problems is intelligent and illuminated by her amazing talent as a storyteller. As a commentary on the issues of identity and betrayal, "Psalm 119" surpasses Graham Greene's "The Quiet American" and Louis de Berniere's "Birds without wings".

Her irreverent blend of the Bible, mythology and modern history recalls Eliot's pre-conversion style and is a stunning read.
