Yeah I agree Assassins Creed 4 is the best game out at the moment but can't bring myself around to paying at least £ 35 for it, I'll wait until something I really like comes out and until then play War Thunder etc which is good fun, bit like Battlefield but in the skies.
It does make me laugh when people complain about the price of games. In the 90's games used to cost a lot more. N64 games used to be £50 minimum. Factoring in how development costs have increased in 15 years or so, games should be a lot more expensive than they are now. I personally think that £50 for a PS4 game is still cheap.
Best thing at the mo is to buy the ps4 games that support upgrade. AC4 runs out today. I got it from Sainburies on ps3 a week ago for £22 then using the code in the box and £10 PSN had the full ps4 game to download! £32 all in! This should be the same for COD,BF4 and Injustice but dont know of any others or when they expire. Injustice ultimate edition can be bought for £25 or less and the code inside expires end March. Hope that helps
It does make me laugh when people with more money than sense try to defend overpricing. Your a mug if you think that £50 is fair. If you have money to waste please send some to me. If the games were cheaper they would sell more units.
just buy/build a decent gaming pc then the same games will be cheaper, have better graphics and a lot will be moddable, increasing the life of them, not to mention the massive back catalog and big indie scene. there really isn't any decent ps4 exclusives worth buying atm but that's my opinion!
This is one of the main reason I'm avoiding both XB1 and PS4 at moment - they both seem under powered compared to mid range PC's, the games cost way to much to justify there cost and with creeping micro costs also slipping inn. Multiplayer is also being charged for! For this reason I'm sitting on the fence waiting for SteamBox/PC - may be more expensive for the highest level model, but it will be upgradeable with the option, NOW, to play 4K resolution at highest setting. Even on mid range cards can do 1080p 60fps, or higher resolution, at High or Ultra High graphical setting - yet games are still much cheaper then console games making it harder to justify a console for gaming, esp when you can get better and cheaper in the longer run with more options/mods/extras usually associated with PC games. The games will be less then half the price of console games and still look a lot better, with Steam now with over 70milion users and continuous to grow and expand with games very often on sale at ridiculous prices; its even more appealing . No cost for multiplayer, you can share games with anyone, game mods are free with much given free on PC games, now also with the ability to use old and new PS/XB or Steams own new joypad, as well as mouse & keyboard opens up more choices for gamerers! One large payment works out cheaper in 3yrs! Yet offers so much more!!!!
join this site, the weekly deals are good. i joined and buy ps4 games from £19 - £24 a time. i draw the line at £35 like nlel1975. i've seen call of duty ghosts digitial combo for £27.62 on xbox 360 + xbox one game free - (useful if you plan to upgrade to next gen console) http://www.gamestock.co/deals
PS4 games are overpriced at the moment. So it will be a select few that's purchased for the time being. When decent ones come out that is. I paid £74.99 for Doom 64 back in the day. That was Nintendo's fault for being stubborn in trying to stick with cartridge which did cost more to make and sell.
Major motions pictures cost more than games to make( on the whole) have a smaller audience and you don't have to keep paying to unlock the final product! so by your logic a game should not cost more than going to the movie theater. Yet here we are with the money grabbing games industry still hiking the prices. So £50 for a game is about 3 - 4 times what it should be.
A lady posted below about free ps plus . I gave it a go and it worked no bother. received it within a week. Having enquired further there is also a custom order available on the reward page so you can get any ps4 or xbox one game for 3 credits. its just a matter of completing 3 offers. Will hill casino is free as they refund you your deposit back on completion. Pointshop costs £1 and Posh bingo costs £5.. £6 total
And if you go to a movie theatre then you don't keep the product but do with games. Your entire analogy is flawed here as movies, in general, have a larger audience and further reaching distribution network. Films are a passive experience, games are not.
