I loved Mr Rookham, the male protagonist: a peculiar man with an interesting sense of humour. I found the protagonist, Prudence, rather weak, still her character was the right match for his. The story starts in a nice way and progresses well, descriptions are not long, but they give you a precise feeling of the place and characters. I adore the kitten, I can just imagine it!
