ET guide books have to be among the best in the industry. I have been to Provence before, but the illustrations, descriptions and info in this book are like reading a good book. I leave ET guides on my coffee table for all to enjoy. I highly recommend it. I always also travel with a road map of the region. I have my own accommodations (family and friends in the area) and they know the restaurants. If you need that type of info, then other travel guides might suit you best. I have a whole collection of ET guides and treasure all of them. Bon voyage.

We took about four guidebooks to France with us, including one by good old Rick Steves, and I have to say within a week this was the only one we found ourselves using. Some say the Eyewitness series is fluff (I guess because of all the pictures?) but I found its approachability was what we needed in a pinch. And, yes, it does have nice pictures!

It's a good guide book with lots photos, illustrations, drawings, etc. I hope it can give ranks of the places so that readers can get a priority list of where to go absolutely, and where are optional. This book can be a good assist book, if you have another one in hand.Photos are good.
