This guide sounds great, but we kept meeting others (usually when we were lost too) who found it very difficult to use and with significant errors that made it frustrating and worse than having no guide at all. If you do use it as a guide, make sure you have some really good maps as well, so that you'll hopefully be able to get to your destination without too many annoying bum-steers.

This guide does not cover very much of Provence. It only covers a very small part of Western Provence around Arles, Carpentras and Nimes(not even in Provence). Its "Tours" in this area are very short (30-110km). The rides are shown on fairly clear maps but would entail frequent stops to change pages as the maps do not cover a large area. This book is probably ok if you want short flat rides in the small area covered by the book. However, it is not a guide to Provence.

Guide for a single circular route, not numerous routes

This atlas follows a single circular itinerary around Provence, to cover Arles, Nimes, Avignon, Carpentras and the Camargue Regional Park. Each section has detailed maps, photos, descriptions of interesting things to do and see along the route, local tourist information offices contact numbers. An appendix lists accommodation. Ideal for those wanting a long tour, or shorter point-to-point segments, in the Provence area. Not useful for those wanting day-trips from a central point such as Avignon.
