5.0 out of 5 stars Valuable history 19 Nov 2013
By Mike
Well written, exciting history of one of the North's great female historical figures. Many parallels with Bess of Hardwick. Recommended if you visit Skipton, Brougham, Pendragon or any of her other castles.

I am planning to walk Lady Anne Way from Skipton to Penrith and wanted to get to know Lady Anne a bit better. This book is well written and constructed and allows the reader to see the background she grew up in and developed. Very readable.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Lady displaced 17 Nov 2012
By Dorothy Sue Harris - Published on Amazon.com
Lady Anne Clifford was a woman with a 21st century backbone. Reading about her life, she seems more modern that one would expect of her era. When she fights for her lands against her husband, her uncle, and the King, you see a person you really would like to meet.
