Book Description

The Jharro Grove Saga: Part Two

Jhonate's reprieve from her father has been cut short. She is forced to return home to Malaroo, bringing Justan along with her. The journey she has avoided for so long has become all the more difficult because someone wants Justan dead.

The rogue horse Esmine, a mythical beast of remarkable power, has been captured by a troupe of dwarf smugglers. They are taking her to the nation Alberri where a gnome scholar awaits with a vicious plan to sacrifice the beast and bind its powerful soul to make a weapon of mass destruction. Tarah Woodblade must gather a group of warriors and rescue Esmine before she is taken to Alberri.

Evil stirs. Darkness is building. But can anyone trust Xedrion, The Protector of the Grove?

5.0 out of 5 stars Protector of the grove 25 July 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Just like all of the previous six books in the bowl of souls
series I've enjoyed reading this book.
Tarah is starting to learn a little about her magic and of her staff and its potential power. The characters who give Tarah these pieces of information where not the characters I would have expected.
This tells me Tarah is going to become a lot stronger and hopefully will help her see she is not fake. While she was at first created as part of an act she IS Tarah Woodblade.
While I was expecting Tarah and Justin to meet in this book. I'm actually happy they haven't as I think the focus of the book would go back to Justin and Tarah would be relegated to a smaller part. And I sense there is still more to Tarah to come.
I'm enjoying the fact that we are starting to learn about jhonte and her past (and some of her decisions which are surprising)
I've wanted to know about the roo-tan and jhonte since they were first mentioned in Eye of the Moonrat.
The story with arcon and Mellinda is interesting and I can't wait to see where this is going to lead to.
Finally we got to meet the man himself the protector of the grove Xedrion bin leeths. When we first meet him all I could think of is that he is a tougher and stronger version of Jhonte. While at this moment he may not be happy about Justin you can tell he will see that jhonte and Justin are meant to be together mind you I don't think he will take it easy on Justin
I think the cover of this book perfectly shows the appearance of Xedrion because it is how I pictured him in my mind while I was reading the book.
Without spoiling it for everyone else I am happy for what has happened to Albert.
With the thunder people making an appearance what will this mean for Fist and Justin hopefully we'll find out in the next book

Have read all 7 of these books and am looking forward to Book 8. The story is excellent and with a lot of thought on how to progress each of the characters. They grow with the story, and an exciting story it is.
To start off with you want to smack Justan but slowly he grows up before your eyes and we begin to see the making of a strong, likable character. Fist, Deathclaw and Gwyrtha all bring a different perspective to the story and add more depth to the characters. They all play a central part to the story which I like rather than just being extras added for the sake of it.
This story is a continuing saga and I like all the twists and turns that it offers and also the fact that there is a war going on and some of the characters that you like die as well and those who live suffer greatly.
As I said before like this story and looking forward to the next installment.
