This is a practical book to show what in our human nature makes us prone to deception and how to cleanse ourselves / keep ourselves in check to avoid deception. I was hoping for a little more input on the current barking, jerking, vibrating, excessive prophesying and other non-biblical manifestations seen currently in charismatic circles today, but this book does not go into length on this particular subject ... (since he was taken to TACF, I had therefore hoped for more input about this church and its non-biblical manifestations and teachings which are currently sweeping through churches world-wide) ... although his very first chapter entitled, "Signs, Wonders, and Unusual Manifestations" does mention, quote: "Discernment and a diet of solid spiritual food will enable us to assess the authenticity of signs we encounter" and he continues to state throughout the book that the Christian who wants to avoid deception must continue to feast on the Word as a steady diet.
I do like the guide of "Decline from Earthly to Soulish to Demonic" on pages 50 through 56, I like the Chapter on "Mixtures Create Confusion and Division", I like the chapter which reminds us what the False Church holds as gospel (ie: carnal pleasures and worship in any way that 'we' desire vs repentance from sin and worship and obedience according to how the Word teaches), and so for such reminders I would suggest this book as a good read and good reminder for all Christians who are caught in the current Church Age and who cannot find anyone in the flesh to remind them and support them in their stand against the current love of the world in today's churches and against the strange teachings and manifestations which are not found in or supported by the Bible. "Protection From Deception" will remind such a Christian that they are on the correct and Narrow Road which many are leaving for the drunken glory, gold dust filled, carnal and emotionally-hyped broad road which leads to destruction.
"But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it" - Matthew 7:14
"Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true" - Acts 17:11
"“Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you." - Matthew 24:3-4
