I bought this head torch to use camping in November, when it was dark, cold and very wet. You do need to wind it up quite a lot (count 200 - 300 turns) but it gave off a good light for cooking, lighting fire, etc. The three different modes, while occasionaly useful (what is the flash FOR?); having to cycle through the modes to get the one you want is mildly agravating after the 97th time.

Apart from that, I would recommend it to any miser like myself who wants to save money on batteries.

Bought this for my father and he loves it. Easy to use, good strong light and no batteries ever! The only down side is that its a bit bulky when its on the strap, but the 3 straps mean this isnt a huge issue. It can also be taken off the strap and used as a small hand torch.

bought this item because i was tired of needed a torch and finding the batteries were flat or the bulb had gone, but it is so much more. use with the headband if you need your hands free or without if you want a small and compact torch that fits into you pocket. it gives a good light and you never need to go hunting for batteries again. only down side is that it is a little bulky on the headband, but not heavy.

It is nothing to do with the description: you "charge" it for 5 minutes and it works just 1 minute afterwards!

The attachment to clip the torch onto the headband is really difficult - and you need to keep taking the torch off to wind it up. Also the beam isnt very strong and isnt easy to angle when it is on the headband. However the torch small enough to keep in your pocket or bag in case of an emergency.
