Supplied complete with 2 AC/DC mains transformers this very small colour wireless camera can quickly be fitted inside a bird box or covered feeding area. As well as colour pictures (when the light is sufficient) it also can pick up sound and in low light will also operate using infra red. The camera remotely connects to the receiver with 50m max distance apart. That receiver can easily be tuned into most TV's so that the footage can be watched and recorded as required.

This camera is set up on in our bird box. It gives good pictures (with a little interference but with all the other 'wireless' things going on in our close it's hardly surprising!). It was easy to set up but we did have to buy a longer cable so that the receiver could be nearer the box and still watch in on the tv - but this didn't cost a fortune). We have had it for 4 years now and every spring we watch our little blue-tits looking after their young. We love it and it has given us hours of pleasure.

I very nearly didn't buy this product because so many people had experienced varying levels of interference with the transmitted picture. However,I was guessing most people were placing the wireless receiver close to their main TV which probably also housed a VCR/DVD/Sky/FreeSat/telephone/broadband and a whole host of other electrical appliances close by. I was fortunate enough that when I received my camera, I had a small TV whereby I could plug in the receiver away from any other 'electrical traffic' and guess what - this package gave a great pin-sharp image from the wireless-camera, the sound was also surprisingly good. I have not used the infra-red 'night vision capability yet, but all in all I am very happy with this product.

The kit includes 2 ac-dc switch over devices; the lead supplied for the camera is about a metre long (if that). This is certainly not long enough if you bought it for putting in an owl box (which I did). On the other hand you can splice a length of exterior quality twin core cable and buy a replacement male connector (from Maplin) to complete the job. At least it will obviate the need to replace rechargeable batteries on a regular basis. This is, however, not designed to be a nest box camera setup.

We got one of these from "Proteam" through Amazon.

After a couple of months it has stopped working.

Sent an email to Proteam who said "they are only the distributors".

Sent an email to the "Gift Centre" througn Amazon ... still awaiting a reply.

Spoke to Amazon who said that "now 90 days have passed since purchase" I cannot return it (only want it repaired).

Basically I'm "stuffed".

Avoid PROTEAM.
Avoid GIFT CENTRE.
I avoid AMAZON now.

I was excited at receiving this as it was a birthday present for a nature loving wife, sadly there is no colour to the pictures and the infrared is not working at all. I tried to contact the company and was told that they have gone into liquidation. Avoid at all costs!

Bought for my wife for use in a bird box. Was initially very impressed with the look of the camera and receiver but it was when it was plugged in and turned on that disappointment set in! Three issues with it - 1) wireless range between camera and receiver was no more than 12ft. 2) No green colour from the camera - grass was gray! 3) Even if the technical problems of 1&2 were resolved the camera did not focus at the distance required for use in a bird box. Therefore would not reccommend on any level! Returned to Amazon and refunded.

An easy to set up product. There can be quite a lot of interference with the picture. If you can set the receiver up in a room close to where the camera is or on the same side of the house this helps. Once I managed to do this the picture quality was good.
The most frustrating thing about this product is, there is not enough cable. You have to go out and buy extra.
A good product for the price and not too confusing.
