Practical, informative book for the lay-person, 23 Aug 2003
This review is from: The Prostate Cancer Book: The Definitive Guide to the Causes, Symptoms and Treatments (Paperback)
This book was invaluable during the diagnosis, treatment and post-treatment of my partner's illness.
We were totally ignorant about prostate cancer and my partner was willing to go along with the Urologist's advice, without getting additional information/opinions etc.
This book is written for the lay-person and helped us to understand what prostate cancer is, what the results mean, the varying treatments - your treatment options and vital questions to ask the Physician(s). The summary at the end of each chapter was very useful, as is the list of organisations to contact. We referred to the book continuously and it was beneficial to have prior knowledge of the terminology and procedures to expect, as one tends not to hear/absorb information during a consultation.
Great book with practical and helpful advice/information for the patient and his partner.
