My son, a 10 year-old reluctant (understatement!) reader, received this for a christmas present. Books are not his favourite present, but he politely hid his disappointment, and made all the right noises as he unwrapped it. How wrong he was!! After a couple of days of gentle cajolement, we started reading the first book together, a page each, and at the end of chapter one, he begged me to carry on. Unheard of. The book was finished within a few days (also unheard of) and book two started immediately. The story is pitched perfectly for his age and interests - thank you to the author and her son for their insight. Highly recommended.
