Book Description

Dec 1985 Islamic Texts Society
This children's book on the life of the Prophet Muhammad is taken from traditional Muslim biographical literature, including 'hadith'. Passages from the Qur'an are used throughout to reinforce the stories. The material is authentic and the style lively and attractive. Although the book has been written for children of 10 to 15 years of age, it can be usefully read by anyone as an introduction because of its completeness and clarity. There are 32 colour illustrations although there has been no attempt to portray either the Prophet or his Companions. The illustrations are representative of traditional Islamic life as lived in many Arab countries and portray scenes that have occurred in those countries for over a thousand years.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple and concise 12 Jun 2001
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
This is a summarised version of life of the Prophet (pbuh) but without missing out any of the important stuff. Simplistically written, it is a must for young muslims and is an easy introduction for all others wanting to know more about how the message of Islam came into existence.

4.0 out of 5 stars My first intro to the Prophet's life 24 Feb 2003
By "romakhan" - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is a wonderful book for those new or unaware of the Prophet's life. The book contains colorful pictures that keep the children interested throughout. I read it the first time when I was in 2nd grade and finished it in 3 days. The language is very simple and clear. The layout and designing is beautiful too. I love this book and if the authors ever see this review, thank you for helping me learn about the prophet through your words.

5.0 out of 5 stars A modern and easy to read book for parents to share with youngsters 13 Nov 2012
By Julia L. Simpsonurrutia - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is a beautifully executed book that parents will enjoy sharing with their young. It begins before the life of the prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, thereby giving a feel to the reader of God's constant guidance to mankind. One is struck at once by the evocative watercolors of artist Mary Hampson Minifie. (Naturally there is no depiction of the prophet Muhammad, pbuh.)

Leila Azzan and Aisha Gouverneur use language well in the book. The stle is modern enough to be accessible to today's young readers, yet formal enough to endure. Appropriately, excerpts from the Holy Qur'an fit in with the biography. They are always short, making it likely that young readers understanding will thereby be enhanced.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb! 25 Aug 2012
By Kumar - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This is a wonderful biography about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). I would highly recommend it for the casual reader, particularly in giving dawah to a non-Muslim. However, it's a good read for anyone and an excellent summary of the Prophet's life.
