Very interesting and convincing proofs are offered. The book was originally published in 1802, shortly after the French Revolution (1789-1799) in which democrats and republicans, in the name of freedom, justice and human rights, overthrew the absolute monarchy. The book does not condone the French Monarchy but demonstrates, nevertheless, that the French Revolution was built on a monumental lie. It was not concerned with liberty and freedom, but merely used these high ideals to empassion the populace to rise up against the current ruling power. Hidden powers manipulated the population to overthrow the tyranical monarchy so that they (the hidden powers) could gain control of France for their own selfish and evil ends. The author clearly states his case that the success of the French Revolution did not mark a milestone on the road to universal freedom and justice, but was in fact a dark day for the human race, whose bitter fruits have yet to fully ripen.
