I am particularly impressed by the approaches that the contributors employ in introducing the fundamentals of, and presenting imperatives on philosophies that underpin early developmental psychology. These are indeed addressed with precision. However, while the text presents a fulcrum, it lacks a brief introductory background on related potential disorders[ at adult level] that may be a result of the lack of promoting early developmental well-being and prevention of potential ill-health.
Examples would have included an emphasis on examinations related to the direct and simple manner in which potential schizoid personality disorders can be detected, and the correlation between this disorder and the likes of avoidant personality disorder (which, in many cases is misconstrued for schizoid disorders), anti-social personality disorder and causations in narcissist personality disorders, but to mention a few.
The background in question would have then facilitated the student reader to be accorded a chance to peek at the problem before solving it.
This text is indeed a highly recommended handbook for students and social care workers alike!!
