Better than coffee, I feel the effects within 20 to 30 minutes on average. I can take one without feeling many effects consciously, it only serves to wake me up and make me "fresh". If I take two when I'm really tired I'll actually start to feel jittery just the slightest amount, but it definitely has a more pronounced "freshness" effect. Gets me through the day when I need to get work done.
Half-life of caffeine is about 5 hours on average, but I feel the effects fade drastically after the 3rd hour.
I don't recommend taking more than two, as the side effects start to outweigh the beneficial focus effects and you won't feel very well.
