Most project managers have a strong belief in their ability to deliver their project on time and within budget. But what are the risks to the successful completion of your project? This book guides you through the process of identifying and analysing the key risks to your project. It provides guidelines on: Identifying the risks; Assessing the impact of each risk; Analysing the combined impact of the risks on the project's objectives; Assigning adequate contingency to the project's budget and schedule; and Producing a Risk Management Plan to assist the management of risk mitigation. This book has been fully revised for the "In a Week" series relaunch.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Introduction, 4 Dec 2003

This review is from: Project Risk Assessment in a Week (Paperback)
I lecture regularly on project risk management courses and am often asked for recommendations on reference books. Its not easy. There are hundreds of project risk management books and hundreds of financial risk management books, as a search of the Amazon website quickly shows. It really does depend on the type of project you are working on and the types of risk you are trying to manage.

However my favourite as a starting point would definitely be this book by Donald Teale. It deals with even complex topics in very straightforward language, uses simple examples, covers all the key practical tools and is only 90 pages long. It even includes recommendations on software. The perfect introduction. Make sure you get the latest edition.
