Book Description

Get the Project Management Job You Deserve in 7 Easy Steps

Don’t waste time memorizing an exhaustive list of interview questions

Learn a simple 7 step process for finding, preparing and passing your next interview.

Why you need to read this book

If you are a business professional seeking your first project manager opportunity or you are an experienced project manager looking more senior roles, this book will help you prepare for a successful project management interview. If you are a project manager looking to interview junior project managers, then this text will help you ask meaningful questions that demonstrate experience in addition to project management competency. By following the 7 step interview process, you’ll be well prepared for your next interview as well as have a list of job opportunities to pursue.

Interview Strategies … Not Just Questions

Many of the books on the market today simply provide a list of project management questions and suggested answers. Providing a list of questions and responses to memorize and regurgitate is unrealistic and ineffective at best. This text takes a different approach and provides an interview strategy using a step-by-step approach to identify opportunities, prepare for an interview and successfully pass an interview without memorizing.

Learn how to prepare, find opportunities and pass the interview process

This book will teach you how to prepare your resume, find the right opportunity, pass the initial phone screen and prepare you for your on-site interview and the stages afterward. After following this step-by-step process, you will also have a list of additional job opportunities to pursue in addition to your next interview.

Free interview question templates included

As part of your purchase, you can download a set of interview templates that will help you identify job opportunities and prepare for technical and management related interview questions.

Additional bonus questions included

In compiling this book, I consulted with several project management experts to provide current and meaningful project management interview questions. These questions align with the 7 step process taught in the book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Okish 29 May 2014
By adiva
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
It was more of a general job hunting guide with the usual tips on joining Linked in etc and preparing an elevator speech in advance of a terlephone interview from prospective recruitment agencies. It felt more like a job search handbook rather than a book focusing on interview questions made easy. The title is misleading and it is a very small handbook as opposed to a full book covering any detailed Q&A for PM interviews. You can get a better deal by surfing the net. As such i gave it a 2star.

4.0 out of 5 stars quite useful 4 April 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
For an experienced PM it should provide some value in helping focus and reducing stress. For the inexperienced its a good place to start.

Most if not all is available online, but here it is conveniently collected together and nicely organise do

You do need to read it all though.

Could perhaps have done with more suggested specific responses for the more junior PMs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Short and Sweet PM Interview Preparation 6 Nov. 2013
By Brent R Gairy - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I was able to read this short book in a couple of hours as preparation for a Sr. Technical PM position. The concepts described in the book allowed me to focus on several real world scenarios that demonstrated my impact on each project. All in all, it was a great guide on what to expect and how best to answer questions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great information & well organized! 22 May 2013
By Michael Scott Nation - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I bought this book to acquire additional information on improving my chances of employment in IT. Although I am a seasoned PMP with over 15 years of Project Management skills, my age seems to have become a barrier to securing employment. I expected that my PMP Certification, along with my BSEE & MBA Degree, would be sufficient qualifications to secure opportunities, however I have now realized that it is the interview that is the deciding factor. Preparing for the standard interview is no longer sufficient in this very competitive industry. This book will help me edge out my competition.

4.0 out of 5 stars I found the book useful 8 Sept. 2013
By Sharmila DESHPANDE - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
The book was useful in my job search for the following reasons:Excellent:
1. Interview questions.
2. In person interview tips
2. interview follow up strategies.

The book also includes relevant pre-interview info but I was already past
that stage in my job search when I read the book. The diagrams in the
printed version are too small to read easily, my guess is that the eBook
version does not have this issue. Overall, I certainly recommend this book.
