Finally, a book that describes how to complete projects from beginning to end without all the jargon.

This book has helped me understand how to complete every step in the Project Lifecycle. It's easy to read, extremely comprehensive and shows how to manage projects successfully using a simple, clear methodology. What's cool is that every step is also complemented with tables, charts and practical examples.

It's the first book that I've come across that includes activities I can directly apply to my projects. The other thing is that the project management activities, processes and tasks described seem to apply to all types of projects. I manage business, IT, marketing and communications projects - and the project management methodology described certainly applies to these project types.

It's the best reference source for Project Management that I have come across.

I bought this book to explore more about project management methodologies and it basically did not raise to my expectation. It costs around £18 and, to be honest I don't think it is worth the money. The book comes with a CD which contains some samples from the book. My recommendation: do not buy this, a waste of time if you are seriously learning this a project management technology. You'll be better off with PRINCE2 or something similar. I found most of the contents in this book as summary from other widely used standard methodologies.

By Rolf Dobelli TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Hardcover
This book is for people who conceive of work in terms of to-do lists, bullet items, flow charts and tables of organization. If you're not that type, you might want to consider delegating your next project-management task to someone else - because, often, that kind of detail-oriented mentality is exactly what a project needs. At times, this book reads more like an extended outline because of its step-by-step approach. And author Jason Westland is clearly interested in promoting his trademarked "Method123 Project Management Methodology" or MPMM, and his Web site selling various planning aids. However, the book is both detailed and comprehensive, complete with charts, diagrams and even a free CD-ROM. As the cycle of corporate change accelerates, every company needs to become better at executing projects. We recommend this book to managers who need a map through the maze of tasks involved in bringing a special project to a satisfying conclusion.
