Product Description

This is the latest edition of the bestselling "bible" of project management. This Tenth Edition maintains the streamlined approach of the prior editions while moving the content closer to the forthcoming fourth edition of PMI’s Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMOBOK). Changes to this edition include adding new sections on "scope changes," "exiting a project," "collective belief," "managing virtual teams," and many more. Increased sidebars align with the PMOBOK and the PMP Exam, and a new table informs students how to best use this book to study for the Exam.

A lot of book covering so much but saying so little: a contentious opening but looking through the book again I remind myself that 'systems' features very little in the book.
30 years ago I started using, then programming Artemis planning systems on very large projects and they were all system driven. I later moved onto Openplan, MPCS,BPCS & Primavera.
Sadly I see nothing of these in this book, except that some 'Cases' are attempted but at very high level - no mention of KPI, SPI, EVA & S curve interpretation by systems.
I agree with another reviewer that its good for studying but not much use to a professional project manager who should already be well past the 'study' stage.

We had to buy this version for my wife for her semester course. Good book with a delighted history in the related area, but a bit expensive for this version!

Good book to prepare yourself for the PMP exam. Also useful if you want to read a certain exam topic in depth. The references to the PMBOK Guide ed. 2008 are also useful but not really count on this because not everything which is mentioned in this book has a reference in the PMBOK Guide ed. 2008.
See this book as an add-on towards your PMP exam. Must have for every project manager.
