The absence of Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao in this 1987 sequel was bound to affect the film. However this film still has lots of entertaining fight scenes, comedy and stunts. The plot is muddled and can get confusing but in a Chan film all that matters is that it has plenty of the trademark slapstick action and breathtaking stuntwork. Noteworthy is the chase scene where Chan and a police officer's hands are handcuffed together. Apart from the action, there is a lengthy comedy scene where Chan and various characters are hiding in Maggie Cheung's house not aware of each other. The climatic stunts pay homage to Buster Keaton's silent films which Jackie Chan is a huge fan of. Worth buying for fans of the first film.
