    Product Description

    Product Description

The book provides both fundamental and cutting-edge coverage of PLCs. It explains most basic and intermediate to advance instructions through many worked-out examples and explanations of the solutions. Since this is a self-teach manual, it is assumed that reader may not have any access to a PLC instructor, to discuss any programming issues with.
All the Ladder Logic instructions are explained very clearly accompanied with very simple programs that actually we generated and RUN using RSLogix 500 software and tested on an Allen Bradley MICROGLOGIX 1500 plc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ideal for beginners and mid-level 16 April 2012
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I bought a couple of books for programming Allen Bradley, as I started a new job and had to make the transition from Mitsubishi IEC to AB RSlogix.

At first, it felt like a step back, coming back to a "ladder" environment, as well as learning new data file types etc. Anyway, I opted for the book, but only for saving on my PC in Kindle format. The author has also been kind enough to send me a PDF copy, which meant I could carry a copy on my smartphone.

Overall the book is clear, concise, what I expected to be honest. The author has tried his best to explain things in plain English, I certainly helped me in setting up the PLC expansions etc., and once I'd got the hang of RSLogix, the book is still a good reference point to go back to, time and time again

bought it in PDF version. very simple easy to understand language. espacially enjoyed and found useful chapters about shift registers and sequencers. understood at last what's that function "mask" is all about. myself I've worked many examples presented in this book which greatly helped me to comprehend shift tregisters and sequencer applications. encouraged and truly motivated by the ilustrations and proverbs which make the book quite unique.

    1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy it 20 Feb 2011

This book is just horribly, horribly formatted for the kindle. I can't even comment on the content, because the reading experience is so unpleasant. There was apparently no proofreader or editor. There are many blank pages, text changes size for no apparent reasons, an amazing number of typos, and the drawings --a crucial part of the book-- are rarely near the page where they are discussed, and generally so small that they are incomprehensible.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive, user-friendly, great support 17 April 2012

This book is an excellent introduction to PLC programming with RSLogix 500, and for me a great introduction to PLCs and ladder logic in general. I previously tried to conquer Yaskawa's Ladderworks and walked away bewildered and defeated. I said to myself I would choose a better format and learn from there and not give up.

The author is also very responsive to any questions and helpful with any issues related to using the book.

    Keep 'em coming!

The content is great, excellent graphics and examples, the author knows much about teaching. He starts off with very simple setups and programming examples which helped me a lot with a basic understanding of how a typical PLC works and then familiarized me with the most used instructions when one is dealing with the A-B family of PLCs especially using RSLogix 500 software. I disagree with the other reviewer about the format of the text, it is great as well.

its like a colledge text book no flaver. I with these guys would write with some real world explanations and not just step by step with rare to little examples. maybe show some practice or common application in the explanation. read it you'll see what I mean
5.0 out of 5 stars An Inexpensive, excellent and general reference text about A-B family of PLCs 31 Jan 2014

I used the materials when I was taking a course on PLCs and this was a very useful ebook as a supplement. The content explains the application of instructions very well when it comes to writing a ladder logic program using RSLogix 500 software.

I did not see any problem with spelling, punctuation errors, or misplaced illustrations, etc. The ebook comes with many illustrations that helped me to understand the flow of written programs. For me it was a great introduction to PLCs and ladder logic in general.
