Undecided 20 Aug 2010
By Axh
Format:Paperback
Several errors - reported to Microsoft with a polite thank you in response. It's a good book but not for beginners. If you already know C# then great but otherwise a tad confusing. That said, with perseverance and a good C# book then progress can be made.
I have a Lego NXT robot (part of an Open University Short course - highly recommended) and the book covers this quite well but, perhaps, tries to be all things with the inevitable result.

Covers MRDS 1.5 26 April 2010
Format:Paperback
Although this book covers the priciples behind MRDS very well, the c# examples will only work as described with MRDS 1.5, not the current version 2.0.

I had heard of Robotics Studio and thought it was a nice idea though never really looked into it any further. After reading this book however I was astonished at what was it capable of doing. Bluetooth control, custom hardware interfaces and even computer vision. All covered!

There are a number of kits this will work with out of the box Mindstorms being cheif amongst these though if you have your own hardware you can write your own interfaces quite easily to take advantage of the capabilities of MSRS.

Highly recommended :)
