Product Description

Book Description

C++ Programming in easy steps instructs you how to program in the powerful C++ language, giving complete examples that illustrate each aspect.

C++ Programming in easy steps begins by explaining how to download and install a free C++ compiler so you can quickly begin to create your own executable programs by copying the book's examples. It demonstrates all the C++ language basics before moving on to provide examples of Object Oriented Programming. The book concludes by demonstrating how you can use your acquired knowledge to create programs graphically in the free Microsoft Visual C++ Express Integrated Development Environment (IDE).

C++ Programming in easy steps makes no assumption you have previous knowledge of any programming language so it's ideal for the newcomer to computer programming. It has an easy-to-follow style that will appeal to programmers moving from another programming language, and to the student who is studying C++ programming at school or college, and to those seeking a career in computing who need a fundamental understanding of object oriented programming.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spankingly Awesome, 9 Jun 2010
By
J "J" (Hampshire, England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: C++ Programming in Easy Steps (Paperback)
This book is excellent. It took about 12-15 hours to go through cover to cover (i am pretty thorough). The examples given are really clear and, unlike other books, are pretty much all independent of each other. This means if you dont understand something, you are not excluded from the rest of the book. A slight downer was that it seemed a little fiddly to get set up in the first place, but stick with it and you will be duly rewarded with some quality programming knowledge.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, 22 Feb 2010

This review is from: C++ Programming in Easy Steps (Paperback)
with a little previous programming experience I was able to get my first C++ program working in a few hours. It is very clear on how to do the loops, if statements and varibles, offers a good start to the language and is nicely paced for learning.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 31 Jan 2012

I wasn't able to go through the book in 12-15 hours as another reviewer was able to do, but having said that, the book is concise inasmuch as it gets straight to the point without using any unnecessary deviations from the plot, so to speak. Having a knowledge of C++ from some years ago I believe that I can honestly say that the book covers a wide range of C++ topics and that any novice will have done herself/himself a favour by buying this book.
