The device is fine once you get used to American keyboard layout. (The only think that makes it a UK version is the inclusion of some 'extra' characters such as the £ and signs on the keys.) Setting up and pairing with the iPad was very easy: took about a minute.
However, after less than a day, the hard edge along the top of the keyboard has already left scuff marks on the screen protector. (Good job I had one.) As the pads at the four corners wear down, this may get worse. The iPad is very loose in the case after a few months use and slips out of the stand very easily.
Other keyboards were criticised for dropping the bluetooth connection but this one was supposedly reliable. Not true. It drops out occasionally. Sometimes the Caps Lock setting gets reversed (i.e., gives lower case with Caps Lock on).
As with all these keyboards, predictive text is disabled. The illumination is a waste of time and battery.
Do yourself a favour and buy a cheaper keyboard.

I have bought the previous version of the Zagg folio that seems now not to be on sale, but this is the updated one. I did a lot of research before buying it, and it was well designed in terms of features, usability etc.

I found, however, that the keyboard broke very quickly (within three months of buying it) when some of the keys fell off. Amazon arranged a replacement model but I then found that exactly the same thing happened - again in less than three months from purchase.

I was pretty careful with both of these items because they are not cheap, and my usage was not unreasonable, especially with regards to the second one where I largely had it on my desk at work making the occasional update to a 'to-do' list.

It may be that the updated model shown here has addressed these quality issues, but it's a similar price to the ZAGGfolio I purchased. Whilst the design and features of the ZAGGfolio are good compared to others on the market, I can't recommend something that seems only to last a few weeks and can potentially leave you £70 down with an unusable keyboard.

It's a real shame and IF they have addressed the quality issue then this will be a good product. Definitely worth buying from Amazon so that you have the backup if it does fall apart.

I had spent a very long time looking for a bluetooth keyboard which wasn't bulky and which I could use on my lap on the train to and from work. Most designs out there seemed to be aimed for working at a desk, relying on the desks hard surface to support the screen or focussed more on style than practicality.

This is excellent for task. I am currently on a train typing away, the screen is held firmly in place by the design of the case, I can close it up or open it in about a second and when folded flat it seems little bigger than the Ipad by itself so is highly portable. The keypad feels great, the bluetooth connects effortlessly and the battery life is excellent.

My only gripe is that you cant open it 360 degrees so that it is completely flat and you are able to use it as a tablet (screen on top / keyboard underneath) you can nearly do this but you end up with a 20 degree slope which while OK(ish) is not perfect when you are standing wedged in with fellow commuters on a crowded train, trying to hold onto a wedge shaped device one hand. Flat would be better. I would be delighted if Zagg could find a way to fix this design issue without compromising on the rigidity or practicality of the original design. So whilst it is not perfect, I like the functionality of this excellently productive device so much that I can't bring myself to remove a star.

Got it for my niece. She loves the selectable colours for the backlit keyboard!

I had bought a Zaggfolio for my iPad 2 a few years ago and this one (it fits the iPad 4) is even easier to set up - no need to enter a Bluetooth PIN at all when connecting.

The most important thing about these Zagg keyboards though is that unlike the less costly keyboards that have a rubber membrane over them and on others, the keys on this are as easy to type on as those on a MacBook Pro keyboard. It actually CAN be used for touch-typing.

Very good case, keys are really good with plenty of feel and good spacing. One key got stuck and did a stream of s's not sure what happened but only did it once. Battery life could be better, best to turn it of when not in use.
The case is well designed and holds the iPad at a useful angle and the slot is deep enough to stop any risk of the tablet slipping out. Best buy.
