Although this book was written by an american plumber for the american market, most of it still applies to the british market. The author raises some very good points that will help most british plumbers make a little bit more money for doing exactly the same thing they are already doing. So it is a worthwhile investment in my opinion.
This is a great book for anyone with or thinking about starting a plumbing business. It is written by an American but most of the ideas/techniques hold true for this side of the Atlantic. There will be at least one thing in it that you may not have thought of that will boost your profit. It is not a book on how to pinch a penny but rather how to buld a trusted business and ensure you make the money you deserve for providing a quality service. Should be required reading at college.
I think this book was written at a time before the economic downturn. The current climate for plumbers is now very different. There are plenty of plumbers and not enough work to go round. In the real world the tradesmen that remain busy are providing top service at good value for money. Most of the practices in this book would price you out of the market and most of the information about setting up your business and how to present yourself are nothing more than common sense.
