I'm sure if you're reading this, you've gotten your fingers burned a few times with football betting. "I can do that!", you probably said. Harder than it looks, eh?
After one particularly nasty loss, I decided to seek help. I found it in this book.
It is exactly what I've been looking for. It gives you 15 systems for betting, the 3 best being Power Ratings (strength of home team vs. away team), Game Form (recent form, as the name implies) and Penetration Plus (ability of a team to create chances). The systems tell you what matches to bet on, and, almost as importantly, what to avoid. It almost entirely removes "the gut" from the equation, which is exactly what I've been looking for.
I am using the first 2 systems currently on the League of Ireland Premier and First Divisions, and the results are brilliant. I have won 13/16 bets using these systems, which is a success rate of 81% so far. Of course, my selections are limited due to the fact that I have a maximum of 11 matches any weekend to choose from, but once the English/Scottish football kicks off, that's when the real fun begins.
Be warned, however. This book gets quite complicated at times, and the permutation betting system is not explained very well. It took me ages to figure it out, and I'm a smart guy. You also need to be reasonably handy with Microsoft Excel in order to use the 3 aforementioned systems, and writing them out initially coupled with updating the results is a real time-consumer, so I would only go for this book if you are SERIOUS about making money from football betting.
Bottom line: if you're prepared to put in the time and effort, it is more than possible to make money on football betting using this book. I won the price of this book back with my first bet. Think about that.
