This book contains practical advice for driving down organisational costs. As a professional buyer I found it very helpful, informative and interesting. I also think it would be very helpful to people in business who aren't procurement specialists but have responsibility for managing budgets. The chapter on negotiation was especially helpful. Quite a relaxed style and filled with anecdotes. Not cheap but should produce a good payback

A useful read to to give you ideas but short on practical solutions in my view. The anecdotes all seemed a bit samey and short on detail. i.e. We looked at the stationery business and put it out to tender and saved some money. Wow that innovative ....NOT. Has some good reference materials and does make you have a think about the politics of buying. Overall glad I read it but 3 stars - its OK

Good book but stays on the surface. It gives you a large overview of all the important aspects of buying. Also, there's a smell of "I wrote this to promote my company".
