It's great to see this doco series on Hitler has finally been released on dvd, especially how it was never released in Australia. It presents Hitler's personality in an interesting way like never before, from his abusive upbringing through to his artistic days in Vienna, then his frontline action in WW1 and eventual takeover of the German Workers Party, through to his leadership of Germany and his conduct during WW2.
This insight is well backed up with interviews of officer's and civilian's giving their eyewitness account's of events during the period. The only let down of this dvd release is that it has been recorded directly off vhs, making the picture quality average, but otherwise it's still an enjoyable production by Guido Knopp!!!

This collection is superb. It provides the viewer with a fully comprehensive look at the Dictator, incorporating both the personal and professional aspects of Hitler's life. Each episode focuses on a different character trait of the Fuhrer, a journey from the streets of Linz to the ruins of Berlin. Hitler: A Profile, is a very insightful and thought provoking series.

Originally made in the 90's when a lot of Hitler's aquaintances were still alive to be interviewed. This comprehensive documentary takes a look at all aspects of Hitler's life. Anyone interested in this period should have this as part of their collection. I would also recommend Goering - A Career [DVD]

This documentary is up there with anything produced by the BBC. First rate commentary and observation. Content is of the highest order. The biggest problem is: once you start watching, it's hard not to watch the complete series in one go. I fail to understand why this product has had only four reviews. If you're interested in this period, then add it to your collection. I can honestly say: you won't be disappointed.
