5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent starting point ..., 25 Nov 2008
By Mr. J. P. Hume (UK) - See all my reviews

This book is an excellent starting point for anyone looking to start developing web applications and dedicated iPhone websites. Simple to follow, well laid out and with links to all the major resources required to produce your own apps this book really couldn't do a lot more. With only an intermediate knowledge of XHTML and CSS I was able to develop some effective sites. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive, 25 Jul 2008
By Mr. M. A. Knott "knotty1981" (Wales, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is a pretty comprehensive guide for anyone looking to start developing web applications for the iPhone.

Native apps have taken the headlines but webapps are still powerful and valuable.

This covers some of the great features held within mobile safari, such as canvas and the webkit css features.

The only thing missing is creating offline databases, hence 4 stars, but it's still a valuable resource to have. Combine this with the apple developer resources and you won't go far wrong.
