This is the ideal book for competant sewers who want the knowledge to improve their soft furnishing projects.

All instructions are accompanied by clear photographs of each step so very easy to follow.

There is a great section at the front which gives information on tools of the trade and specific techniques which you will need to know.

I am sure that this book will be one I will continue to revisit in the future whenever I tackle curtains, blinds etc

Vanilka 7 Dec 2010

I looked for a book like this for some time. I already have some experience with making cushions and curtains and I like to explore and learn more by being self-taught.

In this book I particularly like the explanation of the sundry materials (lining and interlining), types of threads and their use, types of tracks, poles, baten systems. There are a lot of useful tips, clear steps with pictures and you know exactly what you are doing without feeling stuck as I did with some other books. And I wish I had this book when I was joining piping together (flanged cords) for this first time, the book makes it so easy to understand. Also, this is the first book I've come across that shows how to make a firm pelmet using plywood.

This book is worth buying, it is written with care.

I am a professional curtain maker, and intended to order this book when it came out last year. I make it my business to keep up with the latest publications, and I am very pleased with this one. Very clear and concise instructions, unlike so many glossy coffee-table books in the genre. Tells you what you need to know.
