This book must have taken many hours to compile and cross-check. It is comprehensive. If you want to find a payer who only ever made two substitute league appearances in the old Division Three, as I did: the details are in there. As part of my own historical research into goalkeepers I did find one omission. Edgar Podmore played one game for Crewe Alexandra in 1946/47, and he has gone missing from the book. Otherwise - astonishing effort for us sports statistics geeks !
