'A storyteller in the class of Alexandre Dumas' WASHINGTON POST

Product Description
Hers was the ultimate ambition...The magnificant story of love and politics that continues the saga of Kane and Abel. The titanic battle between two men obsessed with destroying each other follows on into the next generation. Florentyna Rosnovski, Abel's daughter, inherits all her father's drive, but none of his wealth. A woman gifted with beauty and spirit, but above all with indomitable will, she sets out in pursuit of an ambition that dwarfs both Kane and Abel, as she battles for the highest office of all...'A storyteller in the class of Alexandre Dumas' - "Washington Post".

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Story To Keep You Reading, 12 Aug 2003
This was my first Jeffrey Archer novel. The reason I wanted to start reading Archer novels was because he is known to be a good story teller and this is what I felt I needed in a book at the time. Once I started reading this book I became gripped... I have no massive interest in politics but this isn't a factor when reading such a great story. You become involved with Florentyna's life and although there was no time where I was in suspense or anything like that I couldn't put the thing down. If you're looking for a great story without having to really concentrate on loads of things then is is an excellent book. The most important thing that this book did for me was a) it kept me reading and b) it made me want to read more Archer novels. What more could you want? An excellent read and I reccommend it to everybody. The Prodigal Daughter is a fine book.

3.0 out of 5 stars While not the most excellent Archer, well worth the read., 1 May 2000
By robertrooney999@hotmail.com (Kells, near Dublin, Ireland) - See all my reviews
This is a well written Archer, which displays some sound research and understanding of the system and of Poland, from where the main character hails. Archer seems obsessed with first sexual experiances, and in commmon with "As the crow flies" and "First among Equals"

However the plot takes two spheres, the ploitical and Socail life of Floyrentina. It ties the plot of Kane and Abel togehter.

Worth a read, but not a classic.

Robert

4.0 out of 5 stars Typical Archer, Masterpiece, 21 Jul 1999
By A Customer
The way he writes is so exciting that you just want to carry on. Many times when he wants to say something he hints the opposite and the way he reveals it is just masterful.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not compared to Kane and Abel
