Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

The Procter Pest-Stop Sure-Set Mousetrap is a conventional back-break trap that is humanely quick, and easy to set. Mice cannot take the bait without triggering the trap, as they need to tread on a platform to reach the bait-well. The product is sold as a twin-pack for added value and to increase catch-rate. This brand-new mousetrap is simple to set and use; once baited, simply click the lever down to set. The mouse has to tread on a platform to reach the bait-well, which triggers the trap, meaning that the mouse cannot take the bait without triggering the trap. With this trap there is no need to touch dead mice. The plastic construction makes for easy cleaning of the unit to ensure resetting is smooth. As mice tend to run alongside the walls of rooms, the traps should be set at right angles to the wall with the treadle closest to the wall. The traps can also be set in cramped areas due to their small size and height when set. Placing the trap behind furniture keeps them out of reach of pets or children. When a mouse is caught simply hold the trap over a bin, push the plastic square and the dead mouse will fall out. Then reset the trap and, of course, wash your hands.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth it 21 April 2010
The traps arrived the same day (as I was getting desperate!).
I read the instructions and put peanut butter in the traps as recommended and set them.
I checked the traps in the morning and had the first kill. I will continue to set the traps until no more kills!

I Would recommend this as they are very easy to use. They are also easy to "empty" when you find a trap with a dead mouse. You do need to be careful when setting as they are very senstive.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best on the market 4 Mar 2011
Tried 5 other brands and these are the only traps we had success with. Try peanut butter with a piece of milk chocolate stuck in it as bait.Chocolate on it's own doesn't seem to trigger the trap as I guess they can remove it too easily. Buy in bulk though, no point re-using after a kill (sounds harsh but after a while you become de-sensitized!)as they seem to avoid them because of the smell.
We've killed 6 so far in a week using these traps, even 2 in one trap last night! It does feel wrong, and I wish there was another way but when you're being terrorized by these dirty little blighters and humane traps don't work, what can you do?

5.0 out of 5 stars Made my cat hang her head in shame! 12 Feb 2012
Our cat does what a lot of cats do - brought in a mouse, played with it for a bit and then got bored and let it escape.
After a week of encouraging the cat to finish off the job - I tried the 'big cheese' trap which was supposed to catch the mouse safely and then let it go.
After three lots aof cheese were pinched and no mouse caught - I decided to get this beauty because we have a newborn baby in the house and didn't want the mouse getting to any of the baby things.

I loaded up the trap with some peanut butter and within 2 hours... SNAP! The mouse was killed quickly (not brutally at all) and the design of the trap meant that I didn't have to touch the mouse at all.

I would really reccomend one of these, but I would suggest putting a bit of kitchen roll under the trap to soak up any blood.

5 stars - faultless - and there are two of them!

5.0 out of 5 stars mouse control 10 Jan 2010
I had tried all sorts of mouse traps resulting in more hurt fingers than reduced mice, until I purchased the Sure-Set Plastic trap, now it's the mice and not the finger that are trapped. Very pleased with my purchase.

1.0 out of 5 stars inhumane and not up to the task 14 May 2011
I bought this product to take care of a suspected mouse, setting four traps. Sure enough the mouse visited and quite happily took the bait from two of the traps without them operating. The third caught the mouse by the tail only and the mouse then dragged this trap over to the forth which then caught only it's leg. Caught in two traps now, the mouse still managed to drag both of them off and left me having to go hunting for them.

Comming down in the morning to find a still live mouse caught in two traps at the same time, obviously in a lot of pain, having half chewed through one trap trying to get free was not a plesant experience. Since the mouse managed to visit all four traps and indeed set off two off, it seems obvious that these are not up to the task and are rather inhumane.

5.0 out of 5 stars very efficient catchers 16 Mar 2011

Out of 4 different traps set in our greenhouses these were the only traps that consistently caught mice. There have been absolutely no problems with build quality up to now

5.0 out of 5 stars 1 Week, 3 Mice!!! 13 Sep 2012

I purchased these traps last week as we were getting desperate!
I dont know about you but the thought of these horrible little critters make my skin crawl, and for the past few weeks me and my family have been living upstairs.
I have an 8 month old baby who is just learning to crawl and the fact that i didnt know where the mice have been made it impossible for me to allow her to go anywhere near my floors even tho i swept and mopped my floors every day i couldnt bring myself to let her on the floor.

We were prisoners in our own home SOMETHING HAD TO BE DONE!

We had been using poison for 2 weeks prior to getting these traps and what a waste of money that was, tray after tray was being eaten and not a sign of the mice dying or even slowing down.
I searched on Amazon for traps and these had the best reviews by far.........AND, they didnt disappoint!
The day they arrived me and my husband armed ourselves with wire mesh for the airvents outside some expanding foam for any small holes in our home and these wonderful traps :)
we baited them as instructed with peanut butter, clicked the trap in to position and placed them where mice had been active, setting up is so easy and most important NO TRAPPED FINGERS.
Off to bed we went!.......Next morning the trap had caught a very large, very dead mouse. To empty the trap was even easier than setting them up!
Next day we moved a trap to the electric cupboard where we thought they were initially coming from and BANG another one........night after that another one!!!
4 days now nither trap has been triggered, i am confident with the wire mesh, foam and these amazing traps have sorted our furry problem (fingers crossed haha).
I would highly recommend these traps if u wish to get your house back without the worry of unwanted tenants.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth it 8 Jan 2013

The product is good if it works. the problem, for me was, having bought three at once, only one of them ever worked. The catches on the other two simply dont set the trap, so they are useless.

I used peanut butter as bait. These are nice and small as well which I felt reduced the risk of me standing on them.
