Manufacturer's Description

The rat cage is an ideal way to control rats and similar sized nuisance animals. Use it indoors or out, for safe and effective rodent control on farms, domestic and commercial premises alike. It may also be used for trapping squirrels.

It has a single door featuring a sensitive trigger to catch small animals. You can bait with fish, meat or bacon. Brilliant - 26 July 2009
We've only had the cage for 3 days, but it's been so successful.
Easy to set up. We placed it half under a bush, and spread peanut butter on the inside bait shelf.
Within a few hours the first rat had been caught. It was late evening and we released it into fields just over a mile away. The following day another was caught and was released in the same area as before. Then we checked the cage later a blackbird was inside, we opened the cage door and it flew off. The following day a huge rat was caught which we released in the same area.
In the past we've put down bait, which we didn't like doing, and it never worked and was expensive too, so this has been brilliant.

We have chickens and occasionally get rats which are normally controlled with old fashioned wooden snap traps or rat bait. I have spent the last week+ trying to get a particularly huge and agile ninja rat with no success, each day the traps were empty withh the bait gone. This particular rodent then decided to appear cheekily in the garden in boad daylight without a care in the world, so something had to done! The humane trap arrived last night, was set and amazingly Mr Ratty was safely incarcerated this morning. One night, one rat, job done. What more can be said??? A++++

Vermin Control 20 Nov 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase
I purchased this wire rat cage for £12.20 after spending £32.98 on an ELECTRONIC PEST REPELLER UNIQUE PEST CONTROL - THE WORLDS MOST ADVANCED ELECTRONIC PEST CONTROL PATENT PROTECTED it sounded as if the rats were playing musical chairs so I bought the wire rat cage and after two nights, bingo I caught my first rat although the Electronic system was running at the same time. Need I say anymore? the £12.20 was money well spent.

Works but is flawed.
I don't really like being negative about anything but there is a slight issue with this trap. It is very sturdy and well made and appears to be just the job. Read more
